 Upon hearing the word that the financing for ANTIQUE WHITE would happen later than expected, Clete put pen to paper to write another film that could be shot during the summer. He ended up writing
3 DAYS BLIND, a dark comedy about a family who comes together for their father’s 75th birthday.
“We got some actors together and for a cold reading (the actors had not seen the script prior to the reading), and it read rather well,” Chris said. It is now slated to begin principle photography this July.
Synopsis:
Cameron has arranged a surprise party for his father’s 75th birthday at his Beverly Hills residence. Cameron’s struggling actress sister and her husband, who displays an unusual addiction, show up for the party. Cameron’s bitter, pothead, adopted brother, comes out of hiding and arrives with a mysterious girl. The party is anything but a joyous affair. This one weekend exposes everything a “family” has to offer: love, loss, pain, happiness, betrayal, and most of all, the truth.
“Chris and I wanted to shoot this summer, so I figured this would be the best way to accomplish that goal,” Clete said. “I needed to come up with a story that is set mostly in a single location. The property where I live provides many different looks on the four-acre site. That way, with no major company moves, it keeps the cost down... and no permits!”
So, Those Keith Brothers are now in pre-production with the intention of shooting this summer. “You write something, get some great actors, and throw it up on its feet. There is nothing like it,” comments Clete. “Sometimes you just have to go for it and see what happens. We did that with INSTANT TRAUMA and we were very happy with the result. The difference is INSTANT TRAUMA took two years to shoot and the majority of
3 DAYS BLIND will be shot in under 20 days!"
