19 June 2010:
On May 26 of this year, exactly one year to the day that Clete started the GINORMOUS screenplay, Clete and I met with producers, J. Todd Harris, (BOTTLE SHOCK) and Craig Berenson (SNAKES ON A PLANE). We are currently moving forward to produce get this wonderful screenplay up on the big screen. As of right now, with the tax incentives different states are offering, it looks like we will be shooting in Virginia. It has the right look for the project - set in a small, seaside town on the East coast - and the tax incentives will enable us to utilize our small budget to the fullest.
We are VERY excited to say the least because we believe in the power of this screenplay!
I will update this page as things happen. Right now, we are in the process of putting together the bio's of the producers and director (Clete), along with his director's statement, statistics, artwork, etc. The picture on the right shows our first attempt at creating a quick graphic of the movie. It will soon change as we incorporate new ideas and concepts.

27 May 2009:
On May 27 (our mom's birthday), just before we flew off to 2009 BRECKENRIDGE FESTIVAL OF FILM for 3 DAYS BLIND, Clete started the screenplay GINORMOUS. What amazes me is that he wrote it in 5 days. Clete's quote is always, "Anyone can write a screenplay in 5 days - it doesn't mean it's good or bad."
Check out the index card on the right. Clete marked it at the end of each day indicating how many pages he wrote. I don't know about you, but to write 28 1/4 pages in one day blows my mind! What is even more cool, is that his original version has changed very little since. He editing some dialogue here and there, but basically it is virtually the same. I'm amazed by his talent - of course, that is big brother talking so take that into account! :)
Well, once again, I think it's GREAT and I am moving forward to try and raise the finances so we can shoot this movie as soon as possible. In this economy, it's a harrowing task to raise money to make a film. However, that is what every small, independent filmmaker is up against, so there is no reason why we can't keep moving forward! |
